Pool Chlorine Smell
Strangely enough if you can smell chlorine in the swimming pool this means the pool does not have enough chlorine. The
odor that you actually smell is from chloramines. (Not the ones from Star Wars) This is caused when insufficient levels of
chlorine react with ammonia and related compounds from human waste, urine and sweat. This creates halomethanes
and this is what you are smelling.
Test the water to confirm this and do a chlorine shock treatment to sanitize the pool and rid the pool of the reactive
compounds.
